WHY BLUEWATER YACHTS
A company founded by sailing enthusiasts, Bluewater Yachts is more than just a yacht manufacturer; we live the lifestyle we create. Our journey began with the love for our Frers-designed 56-footer, a vessel that captured our hearts so much that we acquired the mold and established Bluewater Yachts. Over time, we’ve enhanced its already exceptional design, offering stylish and functional upgrades that make life off-shore just that much more enjoyable. We continually collaborate with industry-leading experts to integrate advanced materials and state-of-the-art construction techniques, ensuring every Bluewater yacht delivers unmatched speed, stability, and comfort on the open seas. Building on the tremendous success of the Bluewater 56, we have designed and are building the tooling for a new yacht model, the Frers-designed Bluewater 50. This fresh new design incorporates the seakeeping and performance characteristics of her larger sister, set in a “just-right” sized package. The Bluewater 50 is ideal for couples preparing to take off on an extended cruise, moving up from a production cruiser filled with fantastic ideas to bring to a new design, or even those who have been sailing much larger yachts with professional crew and are ready to downsize to the same quality in a more diminutive form. We are boaters, we are creators, we will keep innovating, designing and building the best yachts available. So, mix up your favorite boat drink, explore our stunning galleries, and envision how we can tailor your dream yacht to perfection. We’re confident that you’ll fall in love with our yachts just as much as we have.
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

German Frers
Bluewater 56 and 50 Designer
“Our design work is backed by our solid racing and cruising tradition at sea and a clear understanding of the enjoyment and peace of mind that life on board yields, which can be taken to a higher degree by the beauty and functionality of the design.”
– Germán Frers
Nearly 100 years ago, Germán Frers Sr. started designing and building boats in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As his son, Germán Jr. grew into the leadership of Frers Naval Architecture and Engineering, Frers designs became known around the world; in elegant harbors, during intense expeditions, and on highly competitive race courses. The breadth of work produced by Frers is unmatched in performance, elegance and beauty. As you read this, more than 1,300 designs have been drawn by this company. Throughout its history, Frers’ yacht design has worked with a few exclusive sailing brands including Nautor Swan, Hallberg-Rassy, and Hylas Yachts to name a few. For thirty years, Frers, Queen Long Marine, along with Dick and Kyle Jachney, collaborated to design and build the Hylas line of performance cruising yachts. They began their journey together designing and building strong, mechanically sound, solid performing, cruising sailboats for the Jachney’s charter company based out of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. The Hylas 56, now the Bluewater Yachts 56, is such a good design that when Bluewater Yachts was forming, the 56 alone made the transition. Working with Frers, the team at Bluewater, which includes Kyle Jachney, has further developed the 56 into the wonderful design being built today. Germán Frers’ designs are revered among private yacht owners for their aerodynamic shapes, optimized sailing performance, and advanced engineering. They reflect and represent his profound understanding of balance, stability, and style. From sleek, competitive, no holds-barred racers, to incredibly luxurious cruising yachts, his designs are prized by sailors and collectors alike. Yacht enthusiasts worldwide celebrate Frers’ exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, establishing him as a pioneering icon of modern yacht design.
